Where It Began
ELEVIA existed before, under the same name, but with a different idea behind it. Over time, the name remained, but its meaning evolved into something more personal, more intentional, and more aligned with what I truly wanted to create.
The name comes from the word elevate, and that is not by accident. Every part of this brand, the materials I choose, the way a piece is finished, the way it is meant to feel when you hold it, is built around that one idea.
NICO comes from Saint Nicholas, a quiet echo of my own name, Iustin Nicolae, and a reminder that ELEVIA carries more than craftsmanship alone. It also represents the guidance I found beyond myself while building this brand. There were moments when the path felt impossible, I gave up twice, and for a long time, many things simply did not align. Yet, through faith, patience, and the guidance I associate with Saint Nicholas, every piece of the puzzle found its place, and ELEVIA found its way into existence.
Even the emblem carries that same quiet meaning:Its lines subtly form a cross, a small, deliberate mark of the faith.
ELEVIA is not separate from my story. It is a continuation of it at the right time, born at the point where my own life felt elevated, and shaped to give that feeling a physical form.
The Craft
My interest in exotic leather started with something simple: its rarity. Crocodile, python, these materials cannot be rushed or mass-produced. Every hide carries its own history long before it becomes a cardholder, and that is exactly what draws me to it. I have come to see the same truth in life itself: some things cannot be rushed or forced, they are unique, and they take the time they need, on their own terms.
The first step was deeply personal: I wanted a product like ELEVIA for myself. I wanted something that felt refined, intentional, and made with the kind of care I would expect from an object I chose to carry every day. Creating that first piece made me realize how much joy I found in the process, and how naturally I was drawn to the world of leather, detail, and craftsmanship.
